In the shade of the orlop deck, Mr. Beiter convenes a meeting of the student crew so they can all choose the research projects they'll conduct for their reports. Three teams soon emerge: Allexus, Jessica, Kierra, Sarenha will study celestial tracking; Benjamin, Dylan, Jelle, and Valerie will study mechanical advantage; and Ethen, Janko, Maarten, and Sudarat will study salinity.
