Below we present a partial log of the Replica Ship Half Moon's major events and activites in 2007. Much of this year was devoted to providing the ship with material upgrades in preparation for 2009 and beyond, but we still made time for several student voyages.

April 27-29 : Verplanck-Athens Shakedown. The Half Moon opened its season with a quick voyage upriver from our winter berth at King Marine to Athens, NY.
May-June: 2007 Rebuild Project. While the Half Moon lay at Peckham Materials in Athens, NY, volunteers working under rigger Jim Barry engaged in an extensive program of material upgrades, including the full replacement of both of main channels.
July 17-25: 2007 Schenectady-Nijkerk Voyage of Discovery. The Half Moon once again partipated in this ongoing Dutch-American youth exchange program.
September 8-19: Fall 2007 Voyage of Discovery. The Half Moon set sail for its annual recreation of Henry Hudson's original 1609 Voyage of Discovery with students from Oneida Middle School, Rensselaer Middle High School, Stephen & Harriet Myers Middle School, and Taconic Hills Middle School.
October 7: Hudson River Snapshot Day. The Half Moon participated in Hudson River Snapshot Day (external link). In Albany, Capital Region students gathered at the Corning Preserve to spend the day conducting environmental studies under the guidance of our crew.
