1st Entry, 1225 Hours: As soon as we pull away from the dock, about half the crew teams up to help each other haul in the ship's heavy and cumbersome fenders. While at port, they hang alongside the ship and protect the hull from rubbing against the dock. They're unsightly while we're underway, however, so we promptly pull them in and stow them in the fo'c'stle.
