Half Moon in Motion

The Half Moon is in its element when we are underway sailing, tacking, wearing ship, maneuvering with different configurations of sail – these are the activities that test the ship, and the crew. In addition to being fun and challenging, sailing provides insight about the historical conditions and experiences of the original Half Moon and its counterparts. It is rare that we can obtain video of such operations.

Fortunately, in the summer of 2006, filming with the Christian Broadcasting Network, and Mahoney Media Group produced footage that we can post for anyone to see. Please click on the links to see the ship under sail – if you like what you see, come and join the crew. We sail with volunteers from all walks of life, for a weekend or for a season. No experience is necessary, just a good sense of humor and ability to work hard and learn.
