Mark Anaou is busy working on his own project: Extending the well in the orlop deck back to near its original length. When we installed our new fuel and septic tanks last year, we had to shorten the well (which allows visitors to the ship to view the historical crew quarters) to accomodate the new equipment. Before, it was difficult for a large group to fit below decks. Now, however, we've realigned the plumbing to buy everyone more breathing room.

When this project is done, it'll once again be possible to easily walk around the main mast as it passes through the orlop deck.

Mark Anaou builds and caulks the new flooring. The sturdy new deck sections are designed to be easily removable should the need arise.
