Join Us for River Day!
The Replica Ship Half Moon is honored to lead the River Day Flotilla of Hudson River heritage vessels, escort vessels, and local recreational vessels in celebration of the New York State 2009 Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial: the 400th anniversary of the original Half Moon's voyage of discovery 160 miles up what Captain Henry Hudson dubbed the "River of Mountains."
Follow our progress as we lead a new expedition up the Hudson River to usher in a series of local celebrations, starting with opening festivities off the Battery in Manhattan on the evening of June 5 and continuing through to closing ceremonies in Rensselaer on the 13th!
The Daily Log
is our way of keeping you up to date with the ship's activities. Check the log now for a schedule of Half Moon activities, destinations, and dockside festivities planned near you, then check back each day to see our log entries from the ship.
Meet the Crew
introduces you to the old salts and new volunteers giving their time to serve on board the Half Moon.
Meet the Fleet for a basic overview of the vessels leading the River Day flotilla.
You can also click here (external link) to visit New York State's River Day web site for additional information on the rest of the flotilla vessels.
If you'd like to reach us on board, click here to e-mail the ship, or click here to contact the webmaster directly. Due to our relatively limited web access on the water, please keep messages brief, and ask first before sending large attached images. That said, if you snap a photo of us passing by during River Week, the ship's chronicler would love to see it and might even add it to the log!
You can also follow us on our new Facebook page; just search for Replica Ship Half Moon and we'll come right up.
